It was caught by the beta testers before release, as it’s listed as a known issue exclusive to Windows 7. It doesn’t help users who are frustrated and need a fix, and it’s something Steinberg are fully aware of. Which is why I said in my initial post that it’s unhelpful to keep posting ‘It’s Apple’s fault’. I’ve also had to help another composer move over to Logic for now for the same reason. I currently have to use Logic as I can rely on it to meet deadlines - which for me is the most important thing. Steinberg are clearly trying to address the problem, but in the meantime many Mac users are understandably finding the situation difficult. The situation is not going to change.Īt that point responsibility for a fix lies with the software developer. Let’s say you’re 100% correct and the issues some Mac users have been having for the last few months are down to an Apple update from a year ago. I think you’re misunderstanding the point I’m trying to make. Older versions of MacOS can still run Cubase without the slowdowns everyone complains about, but maybe that’s just… magic. I can tell that you just don’t wanna hear that this is caused by Apple’s decisions, so believe what you wanna believe. Windows has tons of legacy support for a reason. They just happen to change things that make existing applications stop working properly, including their own. Apple don’t ‘break’ things, they change them
